It was partly becuase of the character variety* but it was mostly becuase of the artstyle, since it made character designs and fanart fun and easy to make. The artstyle attracts bipolar emo girls (80% of FPE's fanbase, me being the other 20%), partly becuase FPE was made by a bipolar emo girl but also becuase it's what helps it fit in the "cutesy-violence" genre seen in other troonslops (Clanker Drones, Sprunki, various furry animation memes, ECT...).
*some of the characters are uniquely well done but most of them look the exact same.
TL:DR I liked the artstyle but eventually grew out of FPE and it's queerness.
