Portable/rereleased console ideas

Posted under /ent/

Since new tech being made is rulecucked, full of AI slop & spyware, and they're removing classic features like disk drives, I think it would be a good idea to revive old game consoles and make them hubs for new indie games n sheit. This would include a bunch of stuff like making game engines for them, but also remaking consoles using emulation
Another thing is that I've always been fascinated with those niggas that destroy wiis and then make some portable system they put on their shelf for a youtube video. These are cool but it's obviously just more practical to buy an android/laptop/steam deck and download Dolphin emulator, but these two systems would be more practical:

>WiiBoy

Basically the G-Boy but instead of an actual Wii from 2006, it's just a linux system under the hood. There would also be a GBA cartridge slot backwards compatible with Game Boy games as well. The linux system would be have an OS designed like the 3DS menu instead of the soulless USB menu of the actual portable wiis. Also it uses an SD card because it fits in the console better plus it has a hard drive

>PS2P

Basically a PSP 3000 that has an SD card slot so you can emulate PS2 games. Extra buttons & sticks would be added to accommodate for this.

>rereleased consoles

this is common for stuff like the NES but basically every console from gens 2-7 should be released with extra features like HDMI support and the ability to run bootleg discs, plus an attacble screen so you can use the console as a portable laptop

Since the new tech is gonna become cloud AI spyware, and old game consoles are deteriorating from age, I have new ideas on how 2 preserve them

Gameboy 64: Gameboy Advance, where the cartridge slot is moved to the bottom and a second slot for Nintendo 64 is added. A button is added so you can switch between the two. Also compatible with Gameboy and Gameboy Color

Ultra DS: Fat DS that can fit a UMD slot for PSP games. Also compatible with the GameBoy lineage.

Xbox Laptop: Windows 7 laptop that has a disk drive, controller ports & HDMI cable so you can use it as an Xbox 360 (plays classic Xbox games of course)

PlayStation Laptop: Same as above, but it uses Windows Vista and plays PS1/2/3

Wii Laptop: Same as above, but it uses Windows XP and plays Gamecube/Wii plus extra stuff so you can use it like a Wii

Sega Laptop: Ditto, Windows 98, Dreamcast/Saturn/Sega CD

How would this stuff work? Well, it would basically be Linux emulating everything. Also buttons to switch between the various systems.

Weapons to surpass Metal Gear

We're kinda heading there with stuff like retron consoles, there's also this console called the evercade with a handheld version with a ton of cartridges that are compilations of games from the 90s and before like earthworm jim, banjo kazooie, tomb raider and others as well as compilation carts with recent indie games that are low on the requirement side
