Soyjaks are a memetic trend, which is distinct from fandom culture on the basis of presentation, function, and general adaptability. A fandom could try to replicate a soyjak and would fail miserably, while a soyteen could mock a fandom, and the typical result would be gem-adjacent. Now on the other hand, fandoms are frequently attempting to co-opt soyjaks for themselves, which could muddy the definition if not for their poor posting habits and crystal-clear intentions.
