First off
No animal deserves to be tortured
Not a giraffe dog spider mosquito or fly!
It is cruel
Q. Why is cruelty inheritently bad?
A. It messes up your psyche. To enjoy our temporary status as being alive the first step is to not have an insane mind.
Q. Should you hurt animals at all? Even in self defense?
A. From Voltaires Zadig "feed the dog even if it bites you".
Q. Should we kill invasive species
A. Like Humans? No 👎
Imho I think animals should kill other animals and they should decide what goes extinct
That also applies to humans
Humans have a right to make other humans to extinct
This already happened with the Denisovan and Neanderthal

Why I still eat meat
Humans are born omnivores, AKA half herbivore half carnivore. God also gave us the ability to develop tactics on breeding animals (were the only being that can purposely breed other animals) . Therefore God wants us to eat Animals and does not percieve it as necessarily a wrongdoing. also provides nutrients Humans need.And our psyche can differentiate killing animals for sadistic means vs killing animals to eat them and therefore not cause any mental damage. The animal also produces offspring which is the goal of all animals- therefore it can safely be prepared. From researching I believe the Halal/Kosher method of preparing animals is the most humane
