I have finally come to terms with my faith
Deism comes from the word Deus which comes from the Roman word for God, ergo belief in a God
IE see the term "DEUS VULT"
As for why I don't believe in these organized religions comes down to
Abrahamic religions
1. It prioritizes superstition over reason, IE see when the catholic church started prosecuting Galileo because of heliocentrism
2. Prayers -though useful- is just a placebo
3. They are not static; you think a religion sent from God would never be subject to splintering and constant flux (See the sunni vs shia divide for instance) and we'd have one clear interpretation from these abrahamic religions
4. The parables: How can Joshua prolong the day? How can the Muslims (forgot which one) ride a flying elephant? and how can you come back from the dead? It is obvious God created the world with natural laws that cant be broken, without any exceptions
5. I do not think original sin exists, and like Rousseau, were all born good but corrupted by outside influence
6.How are jews the chosen people in your books and at the same time open to repeated 24/7 persecution by the same groups?
Other assorted religions/atheisms
Paganism: All plain larp from gods people dont believe in, but some of the aesthetics are nice
Buddhism: I dont believe in asceticism, and since we only have one life, it looks foolish to spend it all on trying to restrict our desires
And reincarnation obviously does not exist as we are born with a wiped memory "a blank state" so you think wed be given what we did wrong to ascend to higher realms
Atheism/Agnosticism: Birrins wise words "what was here was once not here therefore was created"
